THE DC Comic Character Green Arrow has been adapted into a popular TV series in the US simply called “Arrow”. Someone recently commented on how unique and awesome it was as a TV show, but some people have also commented on how closely it resembled a fellow DC Comic character you’ve probably never heard of called Batman.

How wrong they are!

1. Batman (Bruce Wayne) is a wealthy 30-something who disappears for years and gets super-ripped, trained in a remote, harsh environment in elite survival and fighting methods by a harsh, bearded master.

Whereas Arrow (Oliver Queen) is a wealthy 30-something who disappears for years and gets super-ripped, trained in a remote, harsh environment in elite survival and fighting methods by a harsh, bearded master.

2. Batman returns home a new man with a mission to return his home city, Gotham, for which his wealthy father he was a generous benefactor, to its former glory. He swears to stamp out the now wealthy mobster elite who seem to run things now.

3. Batman has to set up a cool, dark lair with gadgets he buys with his enormous wealth where he trains. He dons a costume and hides his face with a mask. He changes his voice and pretends to be an obnoxious, irresponsible billionaire by day to throw off suspicion, whilst fighting crime as a notorious vigilante by night. He has an assistant called Alfred.

4. Batman (Bruce Wayne) has a brunette he’s in love with and has been for years, but can’t get involved with her for fear that his enemies will use her against him. She is a feisty, passionate justice-obsessed lawyer.

See? Different.

I mean come on guys, Arrow’s unique! He dons a green hood, boots and tights, fights with a bow and arrow and robs the rich to give to the poor!
